Conifer View AFH is a Residential Care Facility, designed to focus on providing assistance with daily living activities, owned and operated by Carmen Ginghina.
Before embracing the clinical aspect of the Adult Family Home industry, Carmen has been working as a research scientist and lab manager for the Zhang Lab at the University of Washington, where she contributed to research aimed at developing biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease. Carmen has always had a passion to work with elderly in a homelike environment, and looks forward to continuing to improve the quality of life in their home at Conifer View AFH, LLC.
Carmen was born and raised in Romania, graduated from Iasi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, furthered her clinical interests by completing an Internship in Internal Medicine and practicing Family Medicine. However, after winning a Permanent Resident Visa through the United States Visa Lottery, Carmen moved to the U.S., where she applied her proficiency in a second language and the knowledge she gained in medical school to successfully adapt to a new society.
In selecting a new field to work in, Carmen's clinical background directed her to research aimed at improving disease treatment. Through this work, she has used her medical experience to augment new skills related to assay development and biomarker discovery that has resulted in several publications and the advancement of other projects. However, she values new opportunities to expand her horizon beyond working with neurological pathologies to apply her knowledge in clinical practice.
